Koda Cross Body bag

Koda Cross Body bag 0

Hello I am Tina but use Creationsbymormor for my sewing makes. I have two grown up children and two Norwegian Grandchildren (hence my sewing name). I just love to sew.

I am really excited to share my first blog in the Sewing Mill Bloggers Group. My Mother in Law had been complaining that she didn’t have a light weight small sized bag that was secure that she could carry over her shoulder.

So off I went to find a something suitable and I came across the Koda Cross Bodybag by Huff’n Cuffs on BluePrint (nee Craftsy).

This bag is the perfect size for a purse, mobile phone, tissues, specs and keys without being too bulky and awkward.

The finished size is approximately 9½” high by 10″ wide with a zipped pocket on the front. I didn’t make any adjustments to the pattern this time but I am planning on enlarging the size for the next one to give a little extra room.

I made the bag using red patterned twill for the main body, a really lovely supple navy faux leather for the base and 100% cotton for the lining, these fabrics were an absolute joy to work with. I used Bosal to give the bag some structure. If you want, you could just use a firm interfacing for a less structured bag.

The instructions are very clear and the bag comes together quite quickly. If you get stuck with the written instructions there is a great start to finish video tutorial available on youtube.

Happy sewing
